An iPod for $20
Posted by Sandy
from Wired News:
StarBrite is selling a pPod, a virtual iPod for Pocket PCs, that -- given Apple's past tolerance for knockoffs -- may not be available for very long.
Indeed. In fact, it appears that the
pPod has already been renamed the
pBop.
"It works exactly the same way [as the iPod], except it's software and it costs $20," said a spokesman for the company, who wished to remain anonymous.

There's nothing wrong with recreating functionality but did these people have to copy every feature of the iPod interface down to the orange button illumination for the backlight? They must be completely nuts.
That said, if anyone thinks a PocketPC device can stand in for an iPod in terms of storage and audio quality, they are deluding themselves.
