Apple service is definetly not very good. I also had problems with my ipod just after the warranty expired. My ipod displayed a folder with an exclaimation point. From what I had read this may be a hard drive issue. After calling Apple my options were to pay $300 to fix it or just buy a new one. Needless to say I needed a cheaper alternative. After some online searching I discovered a website that would test my ipod for free!!! So I packed up my ipod and sent it to this company wwww.ipodshop.ca in Toronto. When it arrived I was contacted and told that a faulty logic board was my problem and it would be $99 bucks to fix it!!! This made my day!!! Only a fraction of what Apple wanted to charge me. I would definetly recommend this service to anyone.
